SignHealth is a successful and respected charity working to improve the lives of Deaf people through our range of critically important, specialist services designed ‘for Deaf people, by Deaf people’. We strive to ensure that Deaf people get the same access to healthcare and other services as hearing people, and support those ignored or overlooked by mainstream providers. With a track record of real impact stretching over three decades, we employ 160 people across the UK, nearly 70% of whom are themselves Deaf.

 

You will work closely with the CEO and senior management team to ensure that all SignHealth services are delivered to the highest quality and in a personalised way. Moreover, you’ll review the range of services we currently offer, and develop enhanced or new services to meet the emerging preferences and needs of those we support, in a way which ensures we deliver our strategic objectives. Exceeding both statutory and SignHealth quality thresholds, you’ll manage staff, budgets and resources to keep us at the forefront of our field.

 

Your extensive knowledge of regulation relating to social care and National Minimum Standards will be underpinned by a thorough understanding of the policy issues facing the sector, plus a good general grasp of key concepts, such as the social model of disability, and what a good care home looks like. Strong candidates will bring a tireless commitment to maintaining our sector-leading levels of quality, directing and monitoring the performance of the full range of SignHealth services.

 

Your experience must include building, leading and inspiring teams, and developing commercially sustainable, multi-site services. You will have extensive knowledge of housing commissioning and funding streams, and you will be wholeheartedly committed to the values of SignHealth. Your finely honed interpersonal and communications skills (ideally including BSL) will enable you seamlessly to lead a cross-functional team, while establishing and nurturing strong relationships with external commissioners, partners and sector influencers.
