Job description
RNID is the national charity supporting the 12 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. They are aiming to end the discrimination faced by its communities, help people hear better now and fund world-class research to restore hearing and silence tinnitus.
They work with communities and partners across industry, government, charity, education and more to change life for the better.
RNID has a proud history and big ambitions. They're focused on making the greatest impact possible across the whole of the UK. They champion the latest technology and the opportunities it brings. They also know the value of a friendly face in local communities to support people where they need it most.
In the next five years, RNID want to see big, measurable progress made towards:
An end to the discrimination faced by people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.
All adults checking their hearing regularly – as much a part of life as having your eyes or teeth checked.
Their communities having equal access to rewarding employment.
The first life-changing treatments to restore hearing and silence tinnitus.
RNID are creating a radically different culture based on their values: they strive to continue to beconnectedto communities, insightfuland confident in what they do and who they are, curiousin everything they do andpassionateabout their purpose. They are a fully remote organisation, with a genuinely flexible working policy. Staff come together in person three times a year to share ideas and innovation, and work in an agile way across their teams to bring the best talent and skill together to make the biggest impact possible.
This is no ordinary research and policy job. They want you to promote and encourage the use of data and insight across the organisation. You will lead their work to understand the needs and challenges of their communities, to combine these insights with trends in society, politics, technology and business to find solutions, and influence across sectors to put our ideas into practice. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for using research and insight to drive change.
This is a fantastic role that works meaningfully across RNID's matrix structure. You will lead a talented team of research, technology, policy and campaign experts.
The perfect candidate will have broad in-depth experience of drawing on multiple sources of data to generate user or customer insights, following trends and of shaping policy, markets or services. You will be naturally curious with a knack for making connections. You’ll work with industry, charities and governments alike. You will have an entrepreneurial spirit, be great at building and sustaining relationships, and have experience of developing teams to achieve even greater success. You may have come from a market research, consultancy or in-house background, with non-profit or corporate experience: what’s most important to us is your passion to change society for the better.
