Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (KHFT) and Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust (HRCH) are seeking an exceptional individual to join the People function as the Deputy Chief People Officer. In this pivotal role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of their workforce and ensuring that they deliver outstanding patient care through a highly engaged, supported, and inclusive team.

Since 2020, Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust and Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust have worked together under the “Better Together” initiative – aligning acute and community care for improved patient outcomes, system integration and staff satisfaction. Later this year these two forward-thinking organisations will formally join to create Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust.

As the Deputy Chief People Officer, you will be a pivotal member of the Chief People Officer’s senior leadership team and a key strategic leader across the organisations, working closely with the Chief People Officer to develop and implement the Trusts’ People Strategy. You will also lead and manage key workforce functions to enable to delivery of the Trusts’ performance goals and improvement priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading on the development and delivery of people strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent across clinical and non-clinical staff groups.

  • Supporting the Trust in achieving its strategic EDI objectives by devising and implementing actions and interventions that shift the dial on inequality and discrimination, promoting an inclusive and representative culture.

  • Delivering a high-quality business partnering service that supports our managers, maintains consistent professional standards and disseminates best people practices.

  • Driving strategic workforce planning, working collaboratively on innovative and forward-thinking initiatives to make the most of the merger across acute and community pathways for both patients and staff.

  • Leading a strategic approach to Employee Relations that promotes partnership working and a just and learning culture.

  • Proven experience in a senior HR or people management role, preferably within the NHS or a similar public sector environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.

  • Expertise in developing and implementing people strategies that drive organisational success.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • A strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex change and transformation initiatives.
