Chief Executive - Green Light Trust - CLOSED

Posted 22 May 2024
Salary £75,000 to £85,000
LocationBury St Edmunds

Job description

Green Light Trust (GLT) is the leading provider of nature-based mental health support services in the East of England. They support thousands of disadvantaged and marginalised adults, children and young people. Their programmes take place in woodlands and other wild spaces, using nature as the catalyst to engage Participants in activities which are designed to address what may be missing in their lives, such as social interaction, mental wellbeing, physical exercise, purposeful activity and healthy eating.

GLT's work is underpinned by the concept of Green Care – the idea that the environment is a useful and advantageous tool in caring for all of us in society. They offer exceptionally person-centred and individualised care to Participants, and it’s increasingly popular with commissioners: GLT has grown 200% in the past two years, and this trajectory of development is set to continue.

So it’s an exceptionally positive time to join GLT as their new Chief Executive. This is a full-spectrum CEO role – you’ll be accountable for strategy, leadership, management, performance, as well as overseeing the delivery of our activities. They'll ask you to lead them through continued and managed growth, managing the increase in resources and capacity that will require. GLT are currently looking to expand their roster of locations, so an understanding of the land and estate management sector in Suffolk or Norfolk would also be an asset.

An empathetic and relational third sector leader, with extensive experience of providing complementary wellbeing or health services, you’ll be a sophisticated system thinker and will understand how to plan and deliver sustainable growth. GLT are part of a much wider ecosystem of provision, so you must understand issues as various as PIP, WorkWell, ICBs, alternative educational provision and social prescribing. You’ll have the ability to forge strong partnerships that generate innovative new models, but will be just as keen to join in on site with Participants from time to time.
