Job description

Tudor is a grant-making charitable trust that works to support communities to thrive. Over the past few years, they have embarked on a significant organisational journey, towards a more independent governance model which will enable them to achieve lasting social change.

As part of this planned process, a number of long-standing trustees stood down in 2023 to make way for a new cohort of trustees whose skills, experiences and perspectives. The current membership of the Board is a blend of long-standing trustees, with others newly appointed to reflect a wide range of perspectives and leadership, closer to the change they want to achieve.

2024 has already seen rapid progress, and the themes of their future mission are emerging very strongly. Tudor consider that a ‘total impact’ model is most likely to deliver the social change they seek, and they are carefully and intentionally constructing an organisation that is fit for this exciting new purpose. Their intersectional approach is focused on racial and economic justice, climate impacts, and supporting communities which can thrive.

In this new round of trustee recruitment Tudor want to further strengthen their board. For this phase, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with the following profiles:

  • Social entrepreneurship: someone who brings deep insight into the challenges faced by prospective grantees, as well as their motivations and value.

People and Culture: broad-based experience in people strategy, with a focus on JEDI change and transformation, for example scaling up organisations.

While you may have previous trustee experience, we are more interested in those whose professional track record is matched with a strong personal commitment to Tudor’s journey. We are looking for people who have a close understanding of the consequences of racial and social prejudice and inequity, and a determination to a systemic approach to achieving change.
