Job description
If you’ve ever thought, “Surely there must be a better way to deliver services than this!”, this job offers an exciting opportunity. Public Voice is a Community Interest Company (CIC) with a mission to improve public services and neighbourhoods through user engagement. They do this through community engagement, individual user engagement and community intervention, collecting the combined voices of citizens, gathering evidence and ultimately taking action to bring about positive change, now and in the future. Founded in 2014 and based in Tottenham, they now operate across London and in a number of sectors, and have an excellent reputation for their work.
Public Voice want to see a world in which providers of public services and housing are continually responsive to feedback; people are enabled and empowered to influence decisions relating to policy making and service delivery; and in which commissioners of services ensure that providers are under a contractual obligation to be proactive and responsive to feedback from service users. Their ground-breaking model – Understand, Interpret, Design – has transformed the way many organisations engage with service users, and as they approach their tenth birthday, they are proud to be their clients’ first choice in user engagement and service improvement.
Following the retirement of their longstanding Chair, they now seek her successor as Chair of the Board. This critical role guides the entire Board, shaping areas of focus, coaching the senior team of Public Voice and bringing out the best of the Board’s breadth of skills. Over the last eight years, they have experienced substantial growth and development resulting in a more diverse range of contracts and services across health and social care, and neighbourhood change. You’ll oversee our continued growth and expansion into new areas, ensuring that Public Voice's core values of courage, collaboration, integrity and inclusion underpin all they do.
This is a hugely exciting time to become a part of Public Voice. If you are committed to improving services through user engagement and co-production, and have the vision and ambition to take an already successful organisation to its next stage, we would love to hear from you. Public Voice actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and are committed to equality and diversity within their board and workforce.
