Job description

Hackney CVS is a non-profit organisation which has been dedicated to supporting their local community and helping find solutions to health & social inequalities since 1995. They empower local charities and community groups to develop sustainable and financially viable solutions to the long-term challenges facing City and Hackney residents.

During the two and a half decades since they opened our doors, Hackney CVS have grown to work and support people across the City of London and the London Borough of Hackney (City & London), working tirelessly to create a fairer society for local communities. Their role has been as an enabler, facilitator, and convenor for the voluntary and community sector around issues important to residents, brokering collaboration and partnership working and acting as a bridging agent with local public bodies to address local inequalities.

They are now looking for a new Chief Executive to build on the achievements of recent years. Someone to lead them into their next phase of growth and impact. The ideal candidate will be able to be a representative of the community of Hackney, who understands the demographic and is well networked to support and enable their strategy.

Candidates will be impactful and inspiring leaders, bringing extensive experience of developing strategic partnerships, co-production, income generation and have a proven track record of diversifying income streams. You should be able to create and oversee the implementation of an ambitious strategic vision, using personal influence, people and communication skills to create followship. The ability to work in a highly complex and demanding stakeholder environment will be key. The ideal candidate will be widely networked, able to unlock new opportunities for Hackney CVS to maximise its impact across the local community.

The incoming CEO will lead the organisation in the changes that are required to move Hackney CVS forward, both internally, with the evolution of their culture, and externally within the wider community including police and health partnerships. You’ll lead an expert team and ensure that they maintain and expand the organisation's highly influential voice and you’ll be ‘bringing in’ the local community to ensure their voices are centred in key decision and design processes.
